Your feedback, comments and love for Roadwarden is immensely valuable to me.īack in September, when Roadwarden celebrated it's 1 year anniversary, I released a comprehensive update that included not only bug fixes or community wishes but some new content on top as well as an extensive dev blog post. Windows saves get synced between Windows computers, but don't show up on Steam Deck, and vice versa. They seem to only work within the same OS. ![]() As of the time of writing, cloud saves do not fully work. The soundtrack IS great, however it loops the same couple tracks for a LONG portion of the game's introduction segment. The game already highlights a lot of important words I would have loved to have small tooltips to remind me who's who sometimes. Q: Is this set in the same fantasy setting as Tales From Windy Meadow or The Tavern A: It. The game has a "journal" section that tracks a lot of information and names, which is great! However, it doesn't track all of them. story, not the most prevalent one, nor the most important one. I don't have a great memory with names. I have only three minor complaints with this game. The way this world, this bit of country, its wilderness are portrayed. There are actually some Kentucky Route Zero style bits where you get to decide what the background of some things are. The story is also very engaging, and the cardinal sin of fantasy-adjacent games (hitting you over the head with a noun-filled lore dump) does NOT happen. There's a lot of quests and thread to unravel, a lot of which are interlocked. I do think it could explain itself just a little bit better (for example, the bathing equipment you can buy is infinite-use, they're effectively permanent upgrades to any bathing spot). The game mechanics and moment-to-moment play are not super deep, but they are handled very well. Very evocative, atmospheric, and full of mood. it really makes vivid images pop right into your mind's eye. The writing & atmosphere are incredible there's just the right balance struck between visual details and descriptions. ![]()
